Karen Clark

Director/Tap & Creative Movement Instructor

Karen is the previous owner and director of Karen's Kids Studio of Dance. For more than 45 years, Karen has been teaching dance, with 30 of them being in the Mid-Del area. During this time, she has set choreography for Junior High and High School musicals and show choirs. She has been a judge for several dance and pom competitions. She is also the former President of Oklahoma Dance Masters Association. Many of her students have gone on to perform on Broadway, in Branson, Las Vegas, and on cruise lines.

Tasha Hinex

Modern, Jazz, & Hip-Hop Instructor

Tasha is our instructor for ballet, lyrical, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and pom. She earned her dance performance degree from The University of Central Oklahoma, where she was a member of the Kaleidoscope Dancer's Company. She has received the Young Choreographer Award from American Dance Awards. Tasha enjoys teaching on the faculty with the National Dance Alliance (NDA), too. She is also a member of the r.a.c.e. Dance Company here in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

DaYoung Jung

Ballet Instructor

Our ballet instructor, DaYoung Jung, was born in Changwon, South Korea. DaYoung trained at Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia, and holds a master of fine arts degree in ballet pedagogy from Bolshoi Ballet Academy. She joined Atlantic City Ballet where she danced principal and soloist roles. In 2012, DaYoung joined Oklahoma City Ballet, where she had been featured as Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, principal in Rubies, Artistic Director Robert Mills' Pushing Pennies, and a soloist in Swan Lake, among other ballets. As of 2014, she will be dancing as a Soloist at the Oklahoma City Ballet.

DaYoung Jung

Katie Noble

Modern & Ballet Instructor

Katie Noble (previously Brooke) has been dancing and performing for more than 10 years. Raised in Enid, Oklahoma, she started dancing with her hometown studio Dance Works of Enid, which is owned and directed by Nikki Cornell. She went on to get her degree at the University of Central Oklahoma, graduating with her performing arts degree, B.F.A. bachelors in fine arts, in 2012. Katie joined Perpetual Motion in 2013 and has enjoyed continuing her dance career with this professional company exploring the new skills of aerial silk and continuing to improve her modern technique. Her plans for the future include obtaining her masters in dance and the desire to teach at a University.

Loni Andrews

Creative Movement & Combo Instructor

Loni has danced at The Dance Department for more than 15 years, and was also a Company member during that time. Her groups competed on a national level and were national champions many of those years. Loni has been assisting in the studio for more than 5 years, and also substitutes in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and hip-hop. She enjoyed having her little creative movement class compete last year and looks forward to working with her little company dancers this year. The creative movement and combo dancers love having Loni for their teacher. It genuinely shows that she truly loves her little dancers. Loni plans to continue her education at UCO, while minoring in dance.

Lindsey Cardone

Hip-Hop Instructor & Assistant

Lindsey is excited to be spending her first year teaching in her home, The Dance Department. She has assisted for two years in creative movement, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. In those 15 years, Lindsey was a company member, her completion group competed in many regional competitions, and won numerous national titles. In addition, her group attended yearly conventions, including O.D.M.A, L.A.D.F, and Dancemakers. Lindsey competed as a tap soloist for 12 years, and was nationally recognized in various competitions. Lindsey is currently perusing her associate's degree in psychology at Rose State College. Upon completion of her associate's degree, she plans to pursue her bachelor's degree in counseling at the University of Central Oklahoma. Lindsey's motto is to "believe in yourself." She feels it is vital for her students to have self-confidence, and for them to know that she has faith in their abilities and goals.

Jessie DeArman

Tap and Jazz Instructor

Jessie DeArman graduated from Oklahoma City University with a bachelor of arts in dance. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, her passion for dance has taken her around the world. She has appeared in Les Grand Ballet Canadians Nutcracker in St. Louis, opened for Legends in Concert in Branson, performed with New Beginnings in an off-Broadway production, and performed in both ensemble and solo performances in Australia in a pre-Olympian tour to Cairns and Sydney. Most recently, she performed with Sesame Street Live!™ on a USO tour across the United States as Elmo™. Over the years, Jessie has also volunteered as Director of Operations with the St. Louis Tap Festival. As a jazz, tap, pompon, hip-hop, musical theater and ballet dancer, Jessie has been teaching and choreographing for past ten years.

Sherry Pierce

Office Manager

Sherry has been our Office Manager for more than 20 years. If you have any questions, Miss Sherry can give you the answer. She does our fabulous recital program each year. She is office manager, nurse, snack bar attendant, photo operator, and computer technician. Put those together and it makes Miss Sherry!
